The Overall-Tourist West Border Of Crete
 In
Platanias, which has grown together in the meantime with the neighboring place Agia
Marina, everything turns on the (inclusively) tourism as well. Its original charm has
at most still kept the old village Pano Platanias, at the top on the steep hill,
although even here tavern lines up in tavern. Imposingly is - after a stroll by the
alleys - still the view from there over the coast section.
 While
itself in the gravel and sandy beaches of Platanias beach chair lines up in beach
chair, only a few hundred meters in western direction the long and almost unfrequented
beach of Gerani begins.
 Reed
belts, close to the sea and mostly agriculturally used surfaces with only isolated hotel
or apartment arrangements (till now in 2000) mark the landscape here. The fact that the
